Cinderella's Dream : The Gown

The wedding day is a day most women look forward to. It is a day most women cherish not only because they are going to start a new life with their prince charming , but it is a day for the bride to show off her style and taste.
By style we mean the cake design, venue decoration, bride’s maid dresses and the WEDDING GOWN.
The wedding gown is usually our first drawing as female kids, especially after we were told the story of Cinderella and her Prince charming.
After the proposal, the very first thing we work towards when preparing for our wedding is the wedding gown. Some brides even know the gown they want because they have being visualizing it (the only thing left is the actual purchase) .Some have changed their minds severally every time they come across a wedding dress they feel is the 'One' .We want it to be perfect and mind blowing because we know it is going to be the star attraction on our wedding day.
The good thing is that we have various styles to choose from (as far as cut, colour and design goes). These days it is not just about the big Cinderella gown, we also have the empire waist styles, the clinging form fitting (and I must add sexy ) mermaid style gowns. Some brides are even more daring by opting for knee length gowns.
The colour of wedding gowns have changed slightly from snow white to off white colours like champagne, gold, silver and even bold colours like pink, green e.t.c. Gwen Stefani chose pink colour for her wedding gown and the colour graduated softly from light pink to deep pink from top to bottom for more drama.
If you still want to make white the colour of your gown but you desire some sort of colour , you can make the sash on your waist the desired colour or design your gown with coloured stones or embroidery. You can also make your hair embellishments your desired colour.
But whatever you choose, make sure you choose a style, cut and colour that will flatter your body shape and play up your best assets ( subtly, cos you do not want to show too much) and disguise your flaws.
After all said and done, you still want to relax before the D-day. I recommend going to the spa for a massage to relieve yourself of any tension and built up stress or taking a full day off (no blackberry or phone calls please) to relax. After all, nobody wants to see a beautiful gown worn by a HAGGARD looking bride and worse still you will not want to show pictures of a stressed looking bride to your kids in future.
