NIGERIA LOOSES HER OLDEST SENIOR ADVOCATE

Nigeria’s oldest Senior Advocate Chief Tanimose Abioye Bankole Oni is dead. He died at the age of 91.
He started his career as a clerical officer in the Nigerian Civil Service in 1940.He joined the British Royal Air force in 1942 from where he read law and was called to the English bar in 1950.In 1973, he became the first Attorney-General of Lagos state and in 1978 he was called to the bar as a SAN.
The Federal Government in recognition of his service to the nation conferred on him the national awards of the Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) and Commander of the Order Of Niger (CON) IN 2004.
