The Shell hall of Muson center, Lagos, Nigeria was filled to capacity as guest came to celebrate the birthday of Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka on the 13th of August 14, 2010.
He surprised guest by announcing that he is forming a new political party. The party according to him is to be called DEMOCRATIC FRONT FOR PEOPLE’S FEDERATION (D.F.P.F) adding that the party’s convention would take place on the 25th of September 2010 in Lagos.
“Just to respond in my own way by a return gift especially to the young generation. I have given up on my own generation completely. So the gift is actually for the young generation.Let me announce it to you today that a group of us have been working for the past five years to set up a political party and the party after being denied recognition for a number of years is now recognized”.
Guest at the occasion included Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Ambassador Segun Olusola, Sea Dog Capone Emmanuel Bassey and a host of other dignitaries.
