UCHE JOMBO HONOURED IN ABIA STATE

On the December 17th 2010, the Abia State Governor Chief Theodore Orji decided to honour the citizens that had brought a lot of pride to the state; It
was called the 1st Abia State Honours & Award Night. Those on the roll were Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, J.Martins, Ruggedman, Nigga Raw, Kalu Nwankwo, Ejike Asiegbu, Nkiru Silvanus, Chinedu Ikediasi (Aki of Aki and Paw Paw), Bright Okpocha (Basket Mouth) to name a few.  The ceremony which was well attended, took place at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia, Abia State. It was quite commendable for the Governor to do this and it is hoped other Governors can follow suit; that is reward excellence in their state when they see it.  It seems the state was still not through with her; Uche was also honoured in her village with a chieftaincy title!  She was given the title of ‘Adanagnga I of Abriba’ which she said means ‘She that has brought pride to the girl-child’.
