Date Set for Prince William's Royal Wedding
The couple, both
28, have received their wish to have a relatively early ceremony. William is known to have wanted as short an engagement as was practical, PEOPLE understands, and they both wanted a spring wedding.
Early clues as to the venue came only a day after their November 16 engagement, when Kate was seen leaving the Abbey after receiving a tour by officials.
Sources early Tuesday said that despite the fact it can seat 2,000 guests, the couple like the Abbey's "intimacy." The palace officials have also announced that the Royal Family and will pay for the church service, the music and parties. The cost of security – likely to run into millions – will be met by the British taxpayers.
Meanwhile, the couple are continuing their lives as they had been pre-engagement. Catherine Middleton, as the palace calls her, was seen shopping at upmarket superstore Waitrose in Menai Bridge, not far from the home that the prince rents in North Wales.
It will also be a public holiday in the U.K, the Prime Minister David Cameron announced. There is already the May Day holiday on the following Monday, making for a festive four-day weekend for the country.
The BBC reported that the date is also the feast day of St. Catherine of Sienna.
I don't care about this business anymore...... Jessica Alba
In early November, Jessica Alba made headlines for her Controversial interview with Elle Magazine for its December issue, saying "good actors never use [scripts]." This agitated screenwriter John August, provoking him to bash her on his blog. But now the rest of the interview has leaked, and it gets a whole lot worse.
The extended interview with Alba, posted on jessicaalba.net in PDF form, reveals that Alba contemplated quitting acting during the filming of 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.'
"[The director told me] 'It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.' He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.'"
"[The director told me] 'It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.' He was like, 'Don't do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.'"
That questionable bit of direction set Alba to a bad way of thinking. "I'm like, 'But there's no connection to a human being.' And then it all got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don't want me to be a person? Am I not allowed to be a person in my work? And so I just said, 'F**k it. I don't care about this business anymore.'"
Alba goes on to state that one reason some of her movies have underperformed at the Box Office: "First-time directors."

Ugly Betty Actor Kills Mother with Samurai Sword
Brooklyn apartment with multiple stab wounds early Tuesday morning, the NYPD confirms. Neighbors heard Brea yelling what they believe to be biblical passages and repeating the word
"repent" during the strife. Michael's Haitian mother, Yannick Brea, 55, was found dead with multiple stab wounds. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told NY1 that Brea was holding a Bible.
"I would say he was a down-to-earth, cool, hard working person," a neighbor told NY1. "I couldn't see this coming at all."
Police say the scene was "extremely bloody," according to TMZ . The same site claims Brea decapitated his mother and that Police used a Taser to subdue Brea when they arrived at the scene around 2:20AM.
In an interview with Haitian film site BelFilm in 2009, Brea said: "I remember growing up and my mother was always feeding people who were less fortunate. My parents raised me to always share and to give charity in the name of God." The same site notes Brea owned a Subway restaurant in Brooklyn with his brother.
Neighbors described the mother and son as "quiet people" to WPIX . "They also said Brea did not give any outward indication of Mental Illness, and it is unknown what made the actor snap. He apparently had an affinity for martial arts," the site writes.
"I heard a shriek, someone yelling, and after that probably like a, 'Help me.' And probably about five minutes after that the sound went away," another neighbor told NY1.
The investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending.
ABC, the network on which Ugly Betty appeared, had no comment.
Why on earth will someone,no matter the reason kill his mother? God please help us.

STUDENTS CREATE FUEL-LESS POWER GENERATOR
Two students of Doregos Private Academy, Lagos, Olajumoke Adebayo and Eniola Adewale has invented a fueless power generator. The invention was
showcased at the Pan-African Women Inventors & Innovators Network Symposium, Expo & Awards at the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja.
The event titled Innovative Women with Innovative Solutions for Africa was witnessed by the minister of Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili, and Mrs Josephine Anenih., minister for Women Affairs, It was indeed a commemdation galore for the students as other youths were advised to emulate them. The students both in SS3 and members of the Junior Engineers, Technicians & Scientists (JETS Club) said the idea was born out of a need to minimize the cost spent of the usage of fuel generators as an average amount of N10, 000 is spent on fuel weekly adding that their invention does not emit any toxic and poses no threat to human health.
According to them, the idea was conceived through the JETS club to which they belonged as coordinators. “We used magnetic flux to generate electricity which the conventional magnet cannot. It consists of a shaf fixed with eight neodymium magnets which rotates when an initial current is passed through the field coils. The electricity is then passed from the copper coil to a step-up transformer which steps up the power voltage from 32 volts to 200 volts to power the output of the generator”. They said.
The young stars noted that JETS club afforded them a vantage avenue to think, analyze and work on scientific research before embarking on the project based on their scientific knowledge that a generator can still exist without using fuel. They stated that it is possible to produce cheaper and more dependable source of electricity for both domestic and industrial use.
The invention the students admitted was not an easy scale through as they had to make several presentations and seminars on the project to the audience comprising their teachers and the school authority before they were finally selected to defend the significance of their project.
Both students hinted that they intend pursuing a career in Engineering in the near future, to develop a bigger generator that can power the whole school.” This is just a prototype to showcase our endowments and potentials.”
The materials used for the invention according to them are a locally fabricated step up transformer, capacitors with total capacity 400,000 uf, neodymium magnets, copper wires transistors battery, oscillators, bulbs and several other materials.
The coordinator Junior Engineers, Technicians & Scientists (JETS Club), of the academy, Mr Lawal Olaide noted that the problem of high cost usage of fuel generators and unemployment in the country coupled with the burning desires of the students to make something unusual was responsible for the feat. according to him, “the main objective of this project is to produce a generator that can produce cheap and sustainable electric power to solve the problem of power supply permanently in the country, adding that it is also of great importance as it does not emit any waste (toxic) products as with conventional generators”.
The Principal of the academy, Mr Jide Adebayo said the school is committed to its mission of creating a learning environment which maximizes individuals’ potentials to meet the challenges of education and life.
Nigeria plans to upgrade its largest oil refinery
Despite being Africa's
largest oil and gas producer,
"We are going back to the original contractors who built all the units to ensure an effective and total refurbishment of the plant," Austen Oniwon, group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said in a statement.
"Unlike in the past when the scope of work was not clearly specified, we intend to conduct a full scale technical audit with well defined scope of work for the contract."
NNPC did not specify how much would be spent on the upgrade or when it expected works to be completed.
