Jay-Z Speaks On Shooting Drug-Addicted Brother At The Age Of 12

    Grammy award winning rapper Jay Z ,has spoken for the first time about the day he shot his drug addicted older brother in the shoulder. In his new book "Decoded",the 40-year-old, who

is married to singer Beyonce, was just 12 when the shooting occurred after Eric stole his ring. ‘I thought my life was over,’ he said. ‘I thought I’d go to jail for ever. It was terrible. I was a boy, a child. I was terrified.’ However the star, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was never prosecuted over the incident as his brother did not press charges.

In fact Eric even apologized for his crack addition when his younger sibling visited him in hospital. In a revealing interview with the Guardian’s Weekend magazine Carter says he still finds the shooting difficult to talk about. He refers to the incident in the song You Must Love Me from his second album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. ‘Saw the devil in your eyes,’ he raps. ‘High off more than weed, confused, I just closed my young eyes and squeezed. ‘What a sound, opened my eyes just in time to see ya stumbling to the ground.’

The hip hop star also discusses his troubled upbringing in a Brooklyn housing project. ‘Guns were everywhere. You didn’t have to go far to get one. Just everywhere, [Guns] were around every day.’There were shootouts, but I never shot anyone else. Most people in shootouts don’t get shot.’ Carter, who recently released his first book Decoded, was shot at three times but remarkably came away unscathed each time. ‘It’s like there was some rogue angel watching over us,’ he says. He eventually turned his life around by throwing himself into his music career and is now the world’s most successful and richest rappers with a large fan base . He has won ten Grammy Awards and sold 50 million albums worldwide.

"He came to my house and we had an argument over someone calling me. He wondered why the person was calling me and all of that. Though he was fuming, I thought he was just pulling my legs and the next thing he did was to pick his keys and told me he was going and I said no problem. That was some minutes to midnight. He didn’t

allow me to see him off to the gate, so I saw him off to the gate in my car.

He came out of his car to meet me and told me I should go home and I said why not. While I was talking to him, he punched me in the face. I was just there, crying by myself. He drove off and later turned back. When I saw his car lights, I looked up wondering why he was coming back. So, I just drove out of the estate into the street, running for my life and he followed me. I was heading to the hospital because my ear drums were hurting. I didn’t even know what was happening to my system.

He caught-up with me at the hospital gates and begged me saying he was sorry and all of that. He offered to take me home in his car and I agreed. I was crying and he was begging me saying it wouldn’t happen again and that he didn’t even know what happened and I felt that people make mistakes and because it was the first time, I forgave him. But he continued beating me over every little thing, and the last one did it. I already told him I was no longer interested and we’ve broken up. We have both moved on with our lives and he once ran into me on the street and said he heard I went to Ghana and I said, Saidi, I don’t want to talk about it and he injured me"

    I know i have been all up about Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim's beef, but this beef is getting really big with celebrities already taking sides and  Nicki has been denying for a while that she has nothing against Lil Kim,well she finally admitted to the beef and spoke her mind on the Angie Martinez show.Check out what she said

…"First, the 'soft porn' movie is a
debased genre, in my opinion, for a segmented immoral audience. Such movies strive to sell more on sexually simulated scenes than the subject matter.
Most producers who delve into this genre usually look out for actors and actresses whose careers are at an abysmal low or who just wish to re-invent themselves from the attendant controversy such movies would generate. I cannot rate her as a truly trained thespian, because there are moral tenets in being a fully trained theatre artist. So, in this case, her claim of being 'professional' in taking that role is ambiguous in my rating. However, she strikes me as a pseudo-bohemian .
In Nigeria, her new found 'soft porn' status could very well boomerang on her. No matter how she and many others think the Nigerian society is 'hypocritical' when it comes to moral issues, it's that moral restraint that defines us as a nation and a people! Tonto would very well do herself a favour to compare notes with Cossy Orjiako and see if notoriety in a stereo-typical immoral role is akin to stardom. For Tonto, who by the way has some malleable talent, an extra fifteen minutes of fame may be added to her career by this but the clock ticks fast!"

YVONNE NELSON BANNED FOR A YEAR

   The gossip windmills had been grinding the rumour for some time now, it has been confirmed that indeed sexy Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has been banned for a year in Ghana and in Nigeria.

Multiple accounts of recurring public

displays of obscene language and behaviour from the actress towards colleagues and decision makers have finally caught up with her. The ban originated from a complaint filed by the Venus Films Production CEO, Alhaji Salam Maamuni, that brought about an urgent meeting of Ghanaian movie industry decision makers who all had some friction to report in their various endeavours with Ms Nelson.

The latest incident happened on the set of her latest movie entitled "4Play Reloaded",produced by Venus Film Productions. Displeased with the absence of her co-star Jackie Appiah with whom she was to shoot a scene, Ms Nelson verbally abused anyone who was within earshot and cared to listen.

Nigerian movie makers have been notified by their Ghanaian counterparts and advised not to hire the services of Ms Nelson. Any Nigerian movie featuring Ms Nelson will be banned in Ghana. The Ghanaian authorities hope to make an example that should send out a strong signal throughout the industry and discourage similar behaviour.

The ban is due to run from October 2010 till October 2011.
