Nollywood actor Jim Iyke was spotted in Houston ,U.S.A purchasing 40 pairs of shoes. The shoes which are allegedly from various high end brands like Gucci, Jimmy Choo and Kenneth Cole are were for himself, his mum, P.A and friends. 

Hmmm!! 40 Pairs at once? Anyway it is not my money.

Figuring out a way to get R&B back on the radio is challenging.  Everything sounds the same on the radio. With 4 I tried to mix R&B from the ’70s and the ’90s with rock ‘n’ roll and a lot of horns to create something new and exciting. I wanted musical changes, bridges, vibrata, live instrumentation, and classic songwriting.”

Big Brother All Stars Kenyan Contestant, Sheila Launches Showbiz Career In Nigeria

Big brother Africa All Star's Kenyan contestant and Uti's Nwachukwu's alleged crush in the house Sheila Kwamboka  is set to to debut a music video soon. The video which was shot in Nigeria was directed by Alex Mouth of Tinsel ( who is also rumoured to be her manager)

She also bagged a role in a Nigerian action flick titled 'Zip' which  starts shooting soon.

“I can’t say much about the movie but I’m playing the role of an assassin, there will be lot of guns, jet skiing and motor bike racing in the movie. Right now I’m taking some lessons in bike riding,” Sheila said.

 In a telephone interview with Hot Secrets, Sheila spoke about her stint in Nigeria and why she has opted to launch her career there.

“Nigeria has a very vibrant music industry. Kenya is still home but Nigeria is my office, I’m a world citizen.”

The emergence of Nigerian designers on the international fashion scene is a testament to the fact that indeed the world is ready to not just pay attention to Africa, but to also appreciate and respect the work and talent of Nigerian / African fashion designers. Even though people may argue that their emergence internationally is based solely on the fact that Ankara/Mud fabric is one of the hottest trends in Hollywood now, I personally feel it is more about the talent .....that the world is paying  attention to the amazing talent that Nigeria (and the rest of Africa) has to offer.

Basket baller demands for wedding ring after proposal was rejected

Dallas baller Roy Williams Jr has dragged his  former girlfriend, ex Miss Texas Brooke Daniels to court demanding that the engagement ring  he bought  and sent to her in a mail  be returned. He also proposed to her through the mail.

In addition to the ring, Roy claims he

also sent $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for Daniels’ brother and a recorded marriage proposal with the ring through the mail just before Valentine’s Day. Brooke didn't accept the proposal....but she kept the ring!

Naturally  after the rejection, Roy asked for the ring back but to his surprise, Brooke said she "lost" it. 

An investigation, launched by Roy's insurance company, located the ring and  found it  with Brooke's dad, Michael Daniels.

It gets a little tricky though. Michael Daniels claims that he has documentation that Roy told Brooke to keep the ring....but he will return it to avoid a lawsuit.

Deola Sagoe Presents 'Ori Oke' : 2011 Summer Collection

    Nigerian designer Deola Sagoe is out with the lookbook for her new collection  'Ori Oke'. The designs  were inspired by Japaneese culture while still being influenced by her nigerian roots. The clothes in this collection were made from fabrics like Aso- Oke and Adire. 

“Ori Oke…derived from the Japanese word “Shibori” and the Yoruba word “Aso-Oke.” Both words describe methods of creating the traditional cloth of the respective cultures.

This is a collection inspired by the similarities Deola Sagoe sees within the Japanese and the Yoruba style of dress.” — Deola Sagoe.
