Some people felt it was odd considering the fact that
the meeting was meant to promote trade between America and China. They felt she should have either worn a Chinese or American creation. One of such people is talented designer Oscar De La Renta.
“My understanding is that the visit was to promote American-Chinese trade — American products in China and Chinese products in America,” the designer told WWD. “Why do you wear European clothes?”
“I’m not talking about my clothes, my business. I’m old, and I don’t need it. But there are a lot of young people, very talented people here who do.”
This is coming from a man who has dressed every American first lady apart from Michelle Obama. Hmm!!!!!
